Her lawyer, Josh Tolini, said there’s been a lack of evidence that the murder was premeditated by Stauch.

I’ll be bringing you updates throughout the day. The morning began with learning that the defense’s forensic psychologist met with Letecia Stauch at the jail for about three hours yesterday. One prosecutor said, “I’m at a loss,” because he doesn’t know what was discussed.

The first witness to be called to the stand this morning is Dr. Jackie Grimmett. She worked as a forensic psychologist at the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo in 2020. Dr. Grimmett conducted a competency evaluation on Letecia Stauch in December 2020.
