People overuse transits too much before even learning about how to use JUST THE BIRTH CHART for timing. Transits come last— they do not indicate the events and flow of your life. That is the Nativity, first and foremost. People forget that astrology as we know it now is primarily about casting horoscopes (charts). This is why Solar and Monthly Revolutions are necessary for interpreting nativities because they help root the floating transits to something personal to your life and nativity.

A big theme of this Mars in Scorpio transit definitely relates to inceptions of plotting and scheming with Mars in Scorpio having a conjunction to the Sun at the end.

Scorpio is always connected to scheming and plotting but all of it is done in private under the Sun's Rays Mars in world astrology is connected to the cycle of war and conflict, and in Scorpio it would fortell for rulers that would plot and scheme, but Scorpio is also linked to poisons, demonstrating the malevolent nature of Mars. Mercury will be traveling there too which suggest

When you do predictive astrology there are 4 layers that are non-negotiable and need to be considered that come WAY before transits

Predictions from the
1. Nativity
2. Epoch Lord
3. Annual Lords
4. Solar Return

If it doesn’t include these 4, its not prediction. The obsession with transits comes because of the math we have now to track them. But truthfully, transits do not describe your life. They describe the unfolding of the world itself, and obviously you are a part of that, but its the unfolding of the world, not of YOU

Just because a lot of people say something is correct doesn’t mean its correct

Theres a story where al-Maʾmūn is talking amongst all his astrologers & all of them agree this man is a prophet, except Abu Ma’shar’s friend who is the lone disagreer

Only he correctly answered They look at the chart and all of them assert the tales this person is telling are true, but Abu Ma’shar friend points out what all did not see and exposed the man for his fraud in calling himself a prophet.

In interrogations, there is a correct & incorrect answer to a question

To delineate the topics of a person's life, one must look towards multiple significators

Pop astrology pushes that you only look at one house or one thing, but medieval texts and authors, like Sahl Ibn Bishr give different perspectives on how to interpret everything in life Delineations of the 1st House and the Ascendant include

- How to distinguish a chart between an animal and a human
- The Ages of Ptolemy to describe growth and development
- Finding the moment of conception by working backwards from birth
- Finding the length of the pregnancy

I wanted to make a thread on how to calculate the Planetary Weeks since I was doing it a LOT today just to help people understand the steps and hopefully to create more dicussion about the technique

So this is Method 1.... of the Planetary Weeks This technique is 1 out of 9 methods for calcualting weeks, hours, and days. There are many more out there but this is the first one I was playing around with. It comes from Abu Ma'shar in Book 9 of the Revolution of the Years of Nativities.

Its really kind of wild to be alive to witness this major shift in history according to the triplicity shift of Saturn/Jupiter conjunctions into the 4 elements that happens roughly every 240 years.

Age of Fire - 1603
Age of Earth - 1802
Age of Air - 2020
Age of Water - 2219 These conjunctions are primarily used to track changes with religions, dynasties, government, law, predicting the rise of prophets, the rise and fall of empires, plagues, etc. Understanding their cycles are core to doing. Mundane/World astrology predictions

People think a transit is causing all this ruckus in their life & then I look at the timing techniques for natal activations & im like UHHHHH absolutely not— we’ve found the culprit. People place so much emphasis on transits but you need to understand how the natal unfolds Ill never stop saying it but transits really are one of the last things you want to look at. They don’t carry a lot of weight bc their influences come quick and fade quick. You’ll be able to see long term influences through Epoch Lords that people mistake for transits

If you’re doing full time readings as an astrologer, tarot reader, diviner, I URGEEEE you to make time to plan days to do NOTHING. Give yourself days to recharge but also pace yourself especially if you have high volume. For ex. I refuse to work on days the Moon squares malefics I look at my schedule for an entire month and Im like okay these will be the days I need to give my body a rest and a break (since the Moon making hard aspects to malefic can indicate bodily strain) and its made such an improvement in the way I go through consults and prep work

Transits are really good for understanding real time developments of how things happen in the world around you, but most people ask the question of how a transit will impact THEM.

If you’re looking for a personal timeline of your life, it needs to be through the natal chart Transits are often hit or miss with how experiences show up, especially when you consider you need to understand transits in the context of the Solar and Monthly revolutions to understand when a planet transits over a natal or revolutionary planet.

In Ptolemy’s Ages of Man, each phase of the life is divided into different chapters

0-3 yrs old is ruled by the Moon
4-13 is ruled by Mercury
14-21 is ruled by Venus
22-40 is ruled by the Sun
41-55 is ruled by Mars
56-67 is ruled by Jupiter
68-death is ruled by Saturn Abu Ma’shar writes about this in his book on the revolution of the years of nativities

The period of the Moon 0-3 is the beginning of childhood, & Mercury 4-13 is the conclusion of childhood

The period of Venus is the beginning of youth 14-21 & the Sun is the end of youth 22-40

Medieval Islamic astrologers incorporated their faith with their astrology, and did not view it as separate.

The opening of most Islamic astrological texts in astrology mirrors the Quran, veneration to God, سم الل ّه الرحمن الرحيم They were all believers in الله. And Astrology was part of الله miracles. This wasn’t limited to just Muslims. There were Jewish Astrologers, Muslims Astrologers, Christian Astrologers. They are part of the religion’s history, and the religion is part of astrological history.

Its important to interpret a planet relative to its domiciles to understand what effects it brings. Example,

Jupiter in Cancer in the chart in the 2H

Cancer is 8H from Sag so it signifies fear and debt, but Cancer is the 5th from Pisces so it indicates wealth from children Or Saturn in Pisces, as a transit now for example

It is in the 2nd from Aquarius, so it signifies financial burdens and hardships but it is in the 3rd from Capricorn which indicates delays in travel and quarrels with siblings.

Next week the Sun enters Aries! Happy almost New Year.

The Sun is associated with many things in astrology, but one of the core significations is knowledge, intellect, and prophecy. The Sun has lots of spiritual connections, in terms of it being a significator of divination. The Sun gets its joy in the 9th house as a result of this. Demetra George in her lecture Gates of Ivory and Gates of Horn that “Divination is the practice of seeking knowledge or understanding the future, the unknown, by supernatural means or consultation with God”.

I severely wish that all the malevolence the Greater Malefic, Saturn, can bestow gets handed to him in his Saturn opposition (now) There is no confirmed time for him, but I just know that this Saturn opposition will be a period of a lot of hardship, restrictions, and limitations for him personally. He has Saturn in Virgo so I’m keeping my eye on him and his chart for the next 3 years
