A Short Moral Story.

One day, a fox went to an elephant and said to him,
"Look, this is ridiculous. The duck is always saying bad things about you behind your back. He is spreading a whole lot of lies out there about you. Teach him a lesson!" The elephant frowned and said,
"I am going to teach him a lesson and break every bone in his body! You just go back to sleep and leave it all to me"

The following day, the fox went back to the elephant and told him,

A Short Moral Story.

A young lad asked his fisherman father,
"Papa, is it okay to tell people about my goals and dreams in life?"

The fisherman was silent for a moment, then asked,
"Why do you want to know that?" The young lad answered,
"Well, papa, I have many big dreams, really big! I want to be of impact in all areas of life, to my generation and all aspects of life. However, I don't know if I should or shouldn't tell people about these dreams I have."

The fisherman smiled, then said

Four close friends, Tan, Lim, Wong, and Mah met at a good restaurant after completing their school studies.

Dattatreya Jayanti: 26 December 2023

It is celebrated on Poornima of the Margashirsha month throughout the country, and in particular in Maharashtra.

Dattatreya was the son of the sage Atri and his wife Anasuya. The three-faced God, Lord Dattatreya, is considered a form of all three deities, Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.
He is the manifestation of Parabrahma, the supreme being, in texts such as the Bhagavata Purana, the Markandeya Purana, and the Brahmanda Purana.

A thought provoking short story :
The Silent Retreat

Four monks decided to meditate silently without speaking for two weeks. They began with enthusiasm and no one said a word the whole day. By nightfall of the first day, the candle began to flicker and then went out. The first monk blurted out, "Oh, no! The candle is out."

The 2nd monk said,"Hey! We are not supposed to speak!"

The 3rd monk said in an irritated voice,"What is this? Why did you two break the silence?"

The 4th monk smiled & said, "Wow! I'm the only one who hasn't spoken."

Devshayani Ekadashi: 10 July
Ashadh Shukla Ekadashi is said to be Harishyan. On this day onwards, Shrivishnu moves into Shayanoavastha, which lasts upto 4 months. Hence, from this day onwards " Chatur Maas"begins.
From this day till Kartik Shukla Ekadashi one should observe fast Worship Lord Vishnu with the Mantra given in Brahmavaivarta Purana

सुप्ते त्वयि जगन्नाथे जगत्सुप्तं भवेदिदम् ।
विबुद्धे च विबुद्ध्येत प्रसन्नो मे भवाच्युत ।।

*“Why do people in anger shout at each other?”*
A saint who was visiting river Ganges to take bath found a group of family members on the banks, shouting in anger at each other.
He turned to his disciples smiled and asked.
“Why do people in anger shout at each other?” Disciples thought for a while; one of them said, “Because we lose our calm, we shout.”
“But, why should you shout when the other person is just next to you?
You can as well tell him what you have to say in a soft manner.” asked the saint.

Sri Ramana Maharshi’s father died, when Ramana was 12.
He heard people crying and talking about his father having passed away.
The death was recent and the corpse well-preserved, so he thought his father was sleeping.
He pointed to the corpse and said: My father is sleeping over there.
His relatives explained that his father is gone and only his body is there.
Most of us would just accept this self-contradictory statement.
But Sri Ramana had a logical mind.
He thought:
All this time, I thought my father was that body.

Perception Matters

In a train, two children were running here and there. Sometimes they would fight with each other, and at times they would jump on top of seats.

The father, sitting nearby, was lost in his thoughts. The co-travellers of the train were upset by the children's playfulness and annoyed by the father's attitude. As the night approached everyone wanted to rest.

Seeing the running around of the children, a traveller could not stop himself and exclaimed to the father -

JUPITER TRANSIT AND COVID

Before the war took place, Krishna visited Hastinapura.
Duryodhana invited Krishna to a feast. He served preparations of delicious foodstuff in golden dishes, and water in golden cups.
He requested Krishna, “Please come and take Your meal with Me.” Krishna said, “I can’t eat anything, because I have no appetite. I only eat anything where there is love and affection, I came to Hastinäpura to ask you to make peace with Arjuna and his brothers, but you have not complied. How can I take My meal with you? I am not hungry.”

Everyday Krishna would visit the garden and say to all the plants, “I love you”.
The plants were very happy and responded saying “Krishna, we love You too”.

One day Krishna rushed quickly into the garden very alarmed. He went to the bamboo plant and the bamboo plant asked, “Krishna, what´s wrong?”
So Krishna said “I need your life. I need to cut you”.

The bamboo thought for a while and then said “You don´t have any other choice. You don’t have any other way?”
It said “OK” & gave himself up.

In Mahabharat, Karna asks Lord Krishna - "My mother left me the moment I was born. Is it my fault I was born an illegitimate child?
I did not get the education from Dhronacharya because I was considered a non-Kshatriya. Parshuram taught me but then gave me the curse to forget everything since I was a Kshatriya.
