Austin City Council member @GregCasar during his testimony against #HB1925 to ban open camping in Texas, said the bill sought to punish local democracy.

He didn't mention he tried to quickly ram through homeless hotel purchases before communities could give input.

1/4 He also failed to mention the Texas Supreme Court ruled that he and his city council colleagues inserted biased, misleading language into a ballot proposition to overturn open camping. Language intended to bias voters against supporting the measure.
