During his Caliphate, ‘Alî b. Abî Tâlib' saw some armor of his with a Christian. He decided to take the matter up legally, so he took the dispute to Shurayh (the Judge).

Shurayh said to the Christian, “What do you have to say about what the Amîr of the Believers claims?”

The Christian replied, “It is my armor, although I do not regard the Amîr of the Believers to be a liar"

“Sabr of Ayyub” is a famous idiom to refer to great sabr.

Ayyub was a prophet of Allāh who was afflicted with many afflictions and trials both physically and financially.

Thread. During this course, he also lost his children. All of this continued not for days or months but for eighteen long years.

Ayyub was patient over everything and only complained to Allāh. This complaint did not negate his patience as we will see.

Allāh said, quoting Ayyub :

Why does God allow hardship & adversity on believers?

There are number of reasons why God allows hardship & adversity to befall people. Even the genuine believers experience hardship & adversity at some stage in their lives in accordance with God's wisdom & Grand Plan.
