1 - There's been some inaccurate information bubbling around about how much $ the USWNT is getting from this men's World Cup under the new equal-pay agreement, and what it’s earned at past Women's World Cups. Here's a thread:
2 - World Cup prize money is awarded to national soccer federations, not directly to players. So if the FIFA prize schedule says a team gets a certain amount for reaching a certain stage, the team itself almost never gets that.

Alabama has played in the Rose Bowl six times before today, last in 1946, and has won a ton of national titles. But winning the 1926 RB gave the program such a boost that it’s celebrated in the school fight song. Why? (1/4)
