Jewish immigrant makers Soloman & Max Krakauer had a shop on Church Street in the early 20th century. They specialised in making clocks and jewellery. ImageImage Solomon and Henrietta Krakauer emigrated from Germany to Barnsley 1891. Solomon made the finest jewellery and timepieces from his shop on Church Street, eventually moving to the grand residence of 4 Victoria Road. Image
