These actors are literally putting nipples in their mouths during these scenes. If it makes HIM uncomfortable then that’s enough. Calling anyone who doesn’t want to simulate sex in the produce aisle of Erehwon “puritan” is the most ridiculous byproduct of sex positivity ever. If he and his wife are uncomfortable with it, that’s between them. Assuming it means “he doesn’t trust himself not to cheat” then… okay?? I

If he was a recovering addict and chose not to simulate drug use would that be “puritanical”?

I never read Harry Potter (and never will) but I think it’s kind of a bad move to retroactively shit on people’s childhood memories/attachment just to be morally superior as an adult. I’m not talking about not defending the author, I’m talking about judging childhood memories and experiences based on things that hadn’t happened yet.

I love watching @Trevornoah meet his hip hop idols. It’s so wholesome and pure and you can see his childhood dreams coming true.
Very cute. I mean look how cute!

I feel sorry for women whose careers were tied to their youth and beauty. Madonna’s face looks like a mess to us, but I can only imagine what happened to her emotionally when she started to age. We don’t really let famous women— known for their youth, sexuality or beauty— age. I see it in the way that (some of) y’all will fight tooth and nail to argue that a celeb you like DOESN'T have any work done when it is evident that many have. They must be the version of themselves we loved first.

Saying that Nigerians— who are only 60 years removed from colonization on a continent still feeling the effects of brain drains and a war that destroyed whole generations of people; do not have generational trauma might be the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard. This is that brand of Christianity sold s by a specific breed of white missionaries to Black Africans who, by status, class, or aspiration, believe themselves saviors of their own people. Whilst knowing nothing about them.

I was on a twitter break when this man happened and I feel responsible for not being here to stop it. He’s not unattractive but he benefits heavily from angles. There’s one photo that exposes this—
Let me see if I can find it.

I put my contacts in backwards so I’m glad I have good seats Image I’ll say more later, but this was a beautiful gut punch that had me trapped between laughing and crying at any moment. It was funny when it needed to be, but also sad; the pathos wasn’t tragic— it was honest. Then right when you were about to well up, it is hilarious.

This lady pulled out of an intersection and swerved into my lane and hit my car. I got out furious because how could you not see me??
I went to her window and she was bent over her steering wheel sobbing. That’s why. She was an older African (Nigerian?) lady like my mom’s age and she couldn’t stop crying. It’s clear she was crying before she hit me. I said, “Auntie, are you alright? Do you need help?” And she just kept crying so I checked her car. She scraped it.

Do you know how nonsensical it is to think that man chose to burn it all down because he just loves being a bigot.
“He loves being horrible and hateful and he’s willing to lose everything for it!”
That’s normal to you? That’s sane behavior?

Please apply sense abeg. There are several points, at various times, since the beginning of his Public spirals that a well person would say to themselves— I should probably not say words anymore. It’s not landing like I’m throwing. I wonder why… let me stop and think.

One thing I have seen a lot, and I find hopeful, is that so many people who were once skeptical are now having open conversations and questioning what they previously understood about mental illness. I wish the media would use this time to be educational about it as well. It doesn’t have to be an immediate connection but why not use the opportunity to speak about behavioral and personality disorders in general? There are many things happening that could be the tie-in.

I was talking to a friend of mine about this idea that mental illness doesn’t cause bigotry or racism or what have you. That is a very fair point but what I think is that the mental illness isn’t in the ideology it’s in the expression of said ideology. (ONE OF TWO OR MORE TWEETS) For small example, I’ve seen a baby and thought, “ooof. That bay is not cute.” and went about my day. A “normal person” has the filter and social grace amongst other things not to say it.
