Mets fans, I owe you an explanation and apology.

My intention this entire offseason was to engage with fans in ways that made the off season and free agent process more interesting. I woke up early on Friday not knowing what my decision would be and spent the next 5 hours on the phone with my representation team trying to figure that out. So, Rob, explain to us how you can be 100% sure that there’s going to be baseball but not confident there will be baseball at the same time? hmmm. 1) Quick note on the TBS deal announcement and how it relates to MLBs strategy during these negotiations. Players who play in the post season do not get paid salary. They get a share of GATE revenue from the first 3 games in ALDS and from the first 4 games in ALCS and WS. Owners 2) keep full gate revenue for games after that and ALL TV MONEY FROM THE POST SEASON. Wrong question. Let’s say you’re a painter. A client who is renovating apartments says he will pay you 100k this year for your painting services. You agree and sign the contract. You expect to be paid 100k. The client then experiences a fire and loses half of their apartments. 1) This is not your fault, but it’s not the client’s fault either, so you mutually agree that you will accept 50k instead of 100k as a show of good faith.
