How to take an ADHD/Autistic Shower:

🔸Amp yourself up over the next 60 minutes that you're finally going to do it! You're going to shower!

🔸3 hours later. Get up to undress and go into the bathroom.

🔸Go into the kitchen instead. 🔸 Remind yourself to go into the bathroom.

🔸Undress.

🔸Zone out on your phone while sitting on the lid of the toilet because you're not actually using it.

🔸Tell your dog/cat not to judge you.

🔸10 minutes later turn on the shower.

It's been go, go, go for a couple of weeks. We decorated for Christmas but we didn't have any Christmas ornaments or a tree because I'm a fan of just a tree with lights on it and Creature peed on our tree and it ended up being thrown away last year. So we got a damn tree and I wanted to make my own breast cancer ornaments and we decorated. (Our tree is boobs with one caption america 😂) I have three regularly scheduled dog walks a week. I've been dealing with my radiation reaction and going in to the docs quite a bit.

I think my second tattoo was a dead giveaway that I was Autistic. I have a verse of Lady Gaga's Poker Face on my back.

Cancer Update!

I saw my radiation oncologists nurse and one of his attendings today. They said my skin reaction to the radiotherapy was closer to being a more severe case of radiation dermititis than usual. They gave me more dressing for the injured area, more lidocaine,... and more silvedene. If it doesn't improve or gets worse by Friday I am to go back in for oral antibiotics.

I had my port accessed today so they could inject contrast into the veins in my stomach. This is in preparation of harvesting tissue from my stomach to transplant...

This is a difficult one so I retweeted for the space to answer 😂

How.about sending an email, snail mail, or putting an anonymous letter on the door explaining that their are people in the neighborhood that are Autistic and have Sensory Processing Disorders.

Tell them that the church bells can cause a sensory overload to those individuals and they are prone to experiencing pain with loud sounds especially when they are chaotic and unpredictable. Ask on behalf of all the Autistics in the neighborhood that they explore alternatives...

The Autistic Escape! 🧵

I had a guy come into my work whom I recognized as an Autistic man from the group home behind the restaurant I worked at. He left for a couple of hours then came back into the store sweaty, out of breath, and started digging around in the trash. 1/13 He had clearly escaped and was on his own adventure! I knew who he was and that he was Autistic. He came into the store because he was comfortable there. Visiting the Taco Bell I worked in was part of his routine as well as the routine of the group home. He felt safe their. 2/13

Refrigerator Parent Theory thread:

The tension, animosity, and negativity that the Refrigerator Parent Theory (disproven but still rampant) puts between parents and children is vile and hideously destructive.

1/10 They'd tell the parent that the child has been neglected and therefore is living a fantasy childhood in their head in preference to real life. The parent, who quite possibly was striving to be an excellent parent, becomes hurt and resentful when dealing with the Autistic child...
