my god they've done it Now, can you imagine shipping this feature they way they did? IMAGINE. Imagine the level of *big thinking* you'd need to be capable of.

Tarrague down!

A simple fun boss with a nice bit of thematic feeling movement in its intermission. A solid starter fight! The Eye! Nice, simple, FUN. I love big meaty positional mechanics like his eye beam & the grapple. Fun!

...he totally beamed me off the edge at .1% hp reeeeee

:/ Postmaster boss is bugged in Tazavesh, can't click the bombs. Was bugged on PTR 1-2 months ago. Can we not have paid beta, please. Boss breaks multiple times. Have had evade bugs in Torghast and multiple harpoon / disengage disconnects.

Like, I use my class movement abilities knowing there’s a DC chance. Wat

Thoughts so far:
- Korthia & Cov strikes seems very run of the mill. Need to see more.
- Intro experience has next to no gameplay. Stuff falls over near instantly. Feels off given the narrative!
- Raid seems vvv exciting based on the dungeon journal We don't know what'll happen with Torghast, the 'Domination Gear' they teased at Blizzcon, and a bunch more. It's really too early to draw conclusions.

Cool to see the reaction to our Torghast video!

Real happy with how it’s coming along, certainly bodes well for part of the Shadowlands experience. As always, WoW is a game of many parts. With Shadowlands, many are great, a select few (balance / elements of classes) are super ropey.

There are glaring covenant problems right now - seriously, the people saying ‘1%’ don’t know what they’re talking about.

Anyway, to cap off this afternoons lore tweets, we’re seeing an unprecedented level of lore recontextualisation & changes.

Will it be worth it? Can’t answer that yes.

Will we, the messenger, be shot? Almost certainly!

I do wish they could have worked around the old lore... ...as it does feel pretty blunt how willing they are to smash even the likes of Chronicle 3 to pieces.

Absolutely, I just need to get it right. The series struggled to get traction & watch time was low. I want to re-evaluate how we can solve that.

We have double the WoW editing capacity now, so we’re happier to put time into videos that don’t set the world on fire. (Smol thread) Part of running things well is managing capacity, load balancing the team & managing opportunity cost. With 1 editor, we were limited to X amount of content per week.

That meant that we had to cut content that wasn’t resonating well with audiences.

Blizzard are willing to treat many of their staff like shit.

The bigwigs being held to account is a very, very good thing.

If they don’t change, then they deserve all the brain drain they’ll get.

I mean, its fine for the staff who get to be in the old boys club, so to speak. Don’t let your passion for the intellectual property of a company blind you to what that company does.

In a seemingly emptier than ever world with weakening social links, people replace culture with products. That’s ripe for exploitation.

My personal, casual, experience illustrates this well...

MILD heroic raiding in 8.3. OFC I used Bloodmallet. The systems of 8.3 were super frustrating, which took away from raiding for me.

Soulbind conduits don't feel great to me rn, and I know there are times where I (contd) love the aesthetics of a covenant, but don't, at all, want to use their ability.

TBH the covenant abilities being class-based is mostly just a bit dull, but sometimes they just don't fit that well.

Fine for the most casual, but ppl my level or up will have mild to great gripes

Yep. IPad Pro is by far my favourite device. Just about all my job bar thumbnails is done one it.

Magic Keyboard is one of the best I’ve ever used, don’t know if my WPM has ever been this high.

Can video edit easily in a pinch with LumaFusion.

Pencil is killer. 10/10. Battery life is incredible. Also means you can swap your EDC bag to once of a smaller class, which is quite nice.

Essentially perfect for my work use!

Totally hear you all on Warlock - we'll be doing some sort of follow up.

Thanks for all the feedback! Super interesting actually. We really did enjoy playing Warlock a lot on alpha BUT it's clear that reality hits them hard. (thread) Mythic+ and other time trail style content hurts classes with low movement and high ramp up time. This hurts all 3 Warlock specs, especially Aff & Demo with the ramp up time.

We LOVED playing em in Torghast etc, but that didn't capture the issues they face in M+.

After a fair bit of testing, Enhancement Shaman gets a big yes from me! Love the changes. Rng etc is still there, but the move from builder spender has been successful imo

More wonderful news from @WarcraftDevs!

They are REMOVING the infinite Heart of Azerite trait that was planned for Patch 8.3.

Instead, they're shifting things onto the legendary cloak via an item earned from Horrific Vision / raiding that'll increase corruption resist. ImageImage @WarcraftDevs It's refreshing to see them... just be reasonable about player concerns. It seems like some of the perceived hubris has melted away. (can't confirm it was there, just that it felt like that - doing is harder than commenting!)

Should have my corruption video up tomorrow. Most of the focus is on succinctly explaining what’s there so you can form your own opinions.

It’s chill in the explainer, fiery in the opinions...

Overall, they’re trying to put a D3/PoE seasonal mechanic into an MMO. Whoops! I certainly think that Ions posturing on this relating to community feedback is a load of waffle. This is more RNG, more post acquisition gear tinkering, and less correlation between item level and item power.

Interesting WoWHead article wowhead.com/news=295802/co…

It seems like you have 4 rolls...
If it's corrupted, what affix you get, the 'tier' of the affix & the corruption penalty within the tiers range.

EG
Helm, 3% haste, 12 corruption
Helm, 3% haste, 17 corruption This means that, assuming you get the right affix (there are 11), you then want to roll a low amount of corruption within the affixes corruption tier range.

Getting low corruption rolls will = wearing another 1 or 2 bits of gear, or wearing higher tier bit of corrupted gear.

There’s a Rommel like thing going on with Saurfang.

So, Rommel was held up as being a more simplistic, honourable guy after the WW2, with much of that being pushed by the allies in order to ease the German people back into the fold & give a character to rally around. This somewhat created the ‘honourable German army’ story. (Also furthered by postwar German memoirs).

Ofc WW2 is a far more serious topic, and I mean no disrespect - it’s just interesting to see art emulate history. I wonder if Blizzard had this in mind?
