But: The news that Twitter quite so routinely rubber-stamped censorship requests from powerful people, including importantly *both* the 2020 Biden campaign and the Trump White House, does actually strike me as pretty outrageous and newsworthy.

Whole thread is worth reading if you want to know what Ana’s actual views are on subjects where some of the silliest scolds on the online Left have been mad at her about (though she agrees with them on the bulk of the underlying policy issues) but this part is worth highlighting: If you hint that you kind of sort of agree with the Right on one half of their talking points, conservatives will trip over each other rolling out the red carpet, Because encouraging people you think might be traveling in your direction is how you act if you actually want to win.

Thread: Quite a bit of my Christopher Hitchens book is devoted to my best attempt at philosophically and historically rigorous interrogation of the positions and arguments of both Hitchens and his critics (e.g. Larry Taunton, Douglas Wilson, William Lane Craig and Martin Amis). So, for example, I give Hitch himself a hard time about the contradiction between his professed allegiance to a materialist theory of history and his insistence that "religion" per se "poisons everything."
