It appears that Korea did autopsies on all sudden deaths after COVID vaccination. After 44 million doses, they found 8 sudden deaths attributable to vaccine myocarditis. If true, it’s great evidence that SCD is very rare and we’re not missing many cases.

academic.oup.com/eurheartj/adva… Image There are certainly vaccine-related cases of myocarditis and deaths that are missed by current US surveillance, just as we know many many COVID deaths are missed. A lot of drama has occurred over just how many cases are missed. The data suggest not many.

A little more on the twitter files:
Infection-based immunity provides meaningful protection, but it does not obviate the need for at least primary vaccination. Hybrid immunity works better. 97% of Americans have had COVID, yet death rates in the unvaccinated remain much higher. Some of this result is confounding, but the gap is enormous and consistent throughout the pandemic. In fact, sicker people are more likely to be vaccinated. Nuanced observational studies that do their best to control for confounding have also supported hybrid immunity.

Here is a photo of some of the subjects of the "twitter files" meeting Trump in the White House. And tweets by then-HHS Secretary Azar declaring that these voices reinforced the administration's COVID strategy. ImageImage So irrespective of internecine twitter drama, I think the good and bad of the pandemic would have unfolded in roughly the same way!

Since there is a lot of COVID T-cell discourse, I thought I'd try something. NIH studied T-cells in post-COVID patients vs controls. I've removed the labels. See if you can identify which columns are controls, post-COVID, Long COVID, and fully recovered.

acpjournals.org/doi/10.7326/M2… And here's another important study examining immune system changes post-COVID. I've removed labels and p-values. Which columns are healthy controls, Long COVID, and fully recovered from COVID? Which of these findings are statistically different?

mRNA Covid vaccines are NOT associated with a significant increase in venous thromboembolism like PE. Studies out of multiple countries using designs like self-controlled case series that minimize confounding fail to find an association. A few examples… A study looking at the entirety of the UK found no increase in venous thromboembolism with the Pfizer vaccine. ImageImage

DeSantis' anti-vax grand jury petition suggests that a rise in cardiac-related mortality in young people might be caused by vaccines. Of course, if you actually look at the study, you'll see—shockingly—that the rise predates vaccination. Because it's mostly due to COVID itself. Study after study has shown that excess cardiovascular deaths during the pandemic are linked to COVID deaths. See how they rise and fall in near-lockstep. That is why most excess cardiac deaths should be attributed to COVID.
