🧵 I am 1 of 19 health care workers from Canada,who's worked in #Gaza since November2023. We've sent letter to @JustinTrudeau @cafreeland @melaniejoly, demanding #Canada move to the right side of history+play an important role in ending gen0side in #Gaza

As humanitarians, we believe in International Humanitarian Law, including authority of @IntlCrimCourt and @CIJ_ICJ .

Given 10 month complete siege of #Gaza +blockade of foreign journalists, health care workers are now eyes+ears for outside world.

Long🧵update:Decades of racism from Thea Weisdorf+failure of @UofT @UnityHealthTO to address institutional racism.

Refresher: June 11: I posted about @UnityHealthTO inaction in protecting students, patients and colleagues from Weisdorf's racism.
@nccm

1/ It's now obvious @UofT+ @UnityHealthTO will have to publicly state they made disaster out of Weisdorf's racism.

Management of Weisdorf racism is yet another example of Anti-Palestininan racism @UofT

But Weisdorf's racism is longstanding

Update🧵Dr.Thea Weisdorf @UnityHealthTO-actions+(non)apology

Refresher:Early June,she went to @occupyuoft encampment,wrapped in #israel flag+confronted pro-Palestinian @UofT students:

"I hope you guys never need health care from U of T. That's all I can say"

1/ @HA4Palestine Suggesting she could withhold care to @UofT students because they were against #Israel gen0side understandably shook the medical community.

June 5: @UnityHealthTO released a statement in which Thea Weisdorf was not named, but was the obvious topic.

1/🧵on when I witnessed+reported #IsraelWarCrimes to @IntlCrimCourt
September 6 (2019), I worked as field medic in the Great March of Return in #Gaza. This demonstration included 100s of Palestinians from all walks of life-young/old, children/adults, men/women, Muslim/Christian. Image 2/They walked along separation wall between #Gaza+ #Israel, demanding Palestinians be allowed return to lands from which they were forcibly displaced-this right enshrined in 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Article 13)+ 4th Geneva Convention
