Background:
October 2023, I was suspended from my physician job, after calling out dehumanizing and debunked Anti-Palestinian racism. I'd identified 🇮🇱 war crimes and genhocide.

My criticism of 🇮🇱 was accurate, and supported by multiple human rights organizations including @hrw @amnesty @UN @btselem , but that didn't stop claims I was an antisemite for criticizing a nation state committing genhocide.

I had some very challenging days, and very few people at that time stepped up to provide support. @KavitaAlguMD was one of those angels.

We spoke about her experience growing up in 🇿🇦, her experiences being a racialized female working in a career that is disproportionately led by white males.

She taught me so much about the systemic barriers faced by patients in our health system, a topic she had researched and published about.

I first met Hammam in 2015: He was a brilliant young doctor in #Gaza, when I was on my annual visit to teach at the Islamic University of Gaza.

We chatted about his children.
