Just a few thoughts on a second look at 🇭🇷4-1🇨🇦

- In the early stages, Canada did well to exploit the flanks, and Croatia hadn't shut down those pathways.

- Larin created and exploited space in transition, leading to a pass for Buchanan's cross for Davies' goal. What I like about the goal is Larin's recognition that the midfield pocket was available and how he could adjust last second before seeking a pass to Buchanan.

Also made sure he could run into the box, drawing a man away from Davies, who scored.

After Iran’s players were threatened for not singing the anthem v England, they muttered it today against Wales.

There had been threats for reprisals and punishment, as well as replacing the team in the future.

Mehdi Chamran, the chairman of Tehran city council, said: “We will never allow anyone to insult our anthem and flag. Iranian civilisation has a history of several thousand years, this civilisation is as old as the total of European and American civilisations.”
