As a marketer, I need everyone to understand the power of social media in this day and age.
So, here’s a thread from someone who has been in marketing for 25 years, is older than the Internet, and remembers when cell phones were briefcases.
Social media is THE best tool ….
To fight against companies and their policies.
Why? Literally everyone is on some form of social media. Even if you eschew the usual chatty channels, you’re on professional networks and forums.
Everyone is.
So B2B marketers (like me) have developed tools to assist with those.

Story time from #TeamBear!
I’m 16 and just started my first job waiting tables at a local place.
Bass fishing tournaments are common there, so we would have yearly influxes of fishermen to compete.
I’m working, and table of men (6) came in for dinner….
So I take their orders.
In between each order, each man makes a lewd comment about how I look and/or what he thinks I’d be “good at.” And everyone laughed. Like they planned it.

Treatment: mastectomy and anti-hormonal medication.
I spent 10 months with one breast and two prosthetics breasts to make me look “normal.”
My surgeon had recommended no reconstruction until we had pathology.

I spent the last 5 days on a trade show floor with several Republican coworkers. We talked (like ya do) when times were slow.
Not one of them is planning to vote Republican in Nov. Not. One.
I was fascinated by that and asked why.
Here are their answers. 🧵/1
Coworker 1: Republican from Ohio.
Says he can’t vote Republican because he has a daughter and he doesn’t want her rights taken away.
See - she was raped in college and got pregnant from it. Abortion meant she didn’t commit suicide (but came close).
