The duality of Prarabdh and Purusharth is common where a person cannot decide if the bad events of life are to be accepted as Prarabdha or fought against and overcome with Purusharth.

Here is the mindful way of working around this issue- A person should be aligned with their Earth element at all times and think of karma from the perspective of Kriyaman - that they are performing at present.

The Prarabdh karma- Sanchit karma are aligned with Akash tatva and destiny is interwoven with a higher consciousness.

🔹What is the difference between the rashi and rashiansh

Rashi is the 30° arc which rises from the eastern horizon of the earth while Rashiansh is the ° of that 30° arc, for example a person born in the lagna of cancer here cancer is the rashi that is rising from the east now if we say that the person was born in 7°22'56" is the rasiansh or lagnansh. (ref jyotish jatak tatva, jyotish ratnakar, bphs, saravali, phaldeepika) 🔹what is the sphuta drishti can it be considered in Varga? what is drikbala and can it be calculated in the varga charts?

the sphuta drishti is a grah drishti, the word sphuta means "correct" and refers to the exact placement of the grah. In other words grahs exact ecliptic longitude. Saravali adds to it sphuta drishti is defined for pairs of planets. It depends upon the aspectual angle (sphuta kona) which is defined to be the angle between aspecting planet and aspected planet. For example a planet sitting at 0° in Aries will give exact aspect on 180° of Libra, because bhachakra is of 360° and it's half is 180°. Now there is some major calculation needed for this saturn, mars and jupiter have special drishti.

mars 4th aspect will be at the angle of ∠90 to

for example mars is at 10° at Aries will aspect at the exact 90° away from the Aries to the 10° of cancer

the weightage of this drishti will be 100%

The 8th aspect of mars will be at the angle ranging ∠210

And it carries the 100% strength

Jupiter has an ∠120 and ∠240 it carries 75% on ∠120 and 50% on ∠240

saturn has an ∠60 and ∠270 for the 3rd and 10th aspect weightage is 100% on both.

Note: the weightage is calculated 0-60 virupas

it can't be calculated in the Varga charts as no such dictum has been given in the classics and we find no reference for this since the varga is the division of Rashi chart it can't be calculated precisely in the varga.

🔹The drikbal is the bal it's a strength attained by the planet through the aspects of other planets, there's no such refrence of calculating drigbala in the varga.(ref saravali and bphs)

Two views

Traditional view- If planets are dwi-dwadash they will have angle greater than 30-300 hence even if they are in the samsaptak amsha, they will not aspect eachother.

Another view- it's based on the findings of H.R. sheshadri iyer, according to iyer the planets even after being divided from the rashi still going to the Rashi hence the aspect will work since the aspect is relative to the Rashi itself. but the importance is only going to be related to the weightage given by the parashara it will never override the placement in the bhachakra.

Note: Its a matter of great debate since both views are based on the principles laid down by the parashara, certain astrologers do cast the longitudes in Varga but there is no such mention of finding the longitudes in the Varga.

🔹what is a bhava? According to the definition of bhava given by Acharya varahamira

An interesting question to deal with what's bhava, let's first understand the rashi chakra it's an imaginary 360° round and 16° wide band in the sky. It stretches about 8° north and 8° south of ecliptic which in turn passes through the centre of zodiac. The 360° belt is divided into 12 compartments of 30° each and they are known as signs or Rashis. A horoscope is a chart of sky at the time of birth and has these 12, 30° compartments known as bhavas. This each house theoretically has an extent of 30°.

Note: there are controversies in this regard, it needs to be understood in a greater detail.

The Ascendant and the 10th cusp

🔹The Ascendant or lagna is the point of intersection of ecliptic and the eastern horizon at any given point of time. It is the first bhava of horoscope. On the other hand the point of intersection of ecliptic with meridian of the place at any given time is the mid heaven or meridian cusp.
