For several years core have taken a lax approach to spam filtration on bitcoin nodes and presided over massive UTXO bloat.
Suddenly they're demanding that you give up all control over your nodes mempool policy because otherwise, some UTXO bloat will occur.

The entire rationale for removing the op return limit is not only cowardly but contradictory and hypocritical on its face.

They say miners control everything and we can't stop them from putting whatever shit they want into the blockchain so there's nothing for it but to do damage limitation and at least give spammers a way to spam without bloating the UTXO set
