Scarlet fever (SF) and invasive Group A Strep (iGAS) infections are higher than usual for this time of year. This will understandably cause worry for patients and parents.

BUT… sore throats are VERY common and the majority will still be due to fairly mild viruses that don’t need treatment. So please don’t panic if you or your child get a sore throat.
