We have faced discrimination in hands of teachers, been butt of jokes from classmates, been accused of being an “Atankawadi” when I was too young to know what it even means. Random uncle will touch or pull my jooda while walking on the road. ++

My introduction to his music was through a Mangalorean girl at a public place in Bangalore many years ago. Her phone rang and “Fly high” played as her ring tone. ++
Hearing Punjabi I got a bit inquisitive so asked her what song that was. she replied it is from your area. She does not know the name of the singer or lyrics, she just liked the music. ++
