Danny Murphy attacked Chelsea’s model on TalkSport Today:

“£1b spent & they’re nowhere near! They’re trying to win the league. Give me one player that gets into #MCFC’s team?”

A Thread of why he's very wrong 👇 Image If you aren't a Chelsea fan or a close Chelsea follower, it's really going to be hard to understand what's going on.

Last summer, Roman sold Chelsea to BlueCo, Chelsea lost Rudiger (best defender), loaned Lukaku (club record signing) & Kante's injury worries not looking better.

Boehly and his people are very patient as long as they think their project is on track.

They bought Dodgers in 2012, finished 13 in MLB. Sign young players, had slow and steady progress until 2017 when they won the league and they haven't finished below 2nd since 2019. I see similar pattern at Chelsea. This squad could take 3 years challenge for the title if I'm being honest.

They build from ground zero and they know that at Chelsea they won't take profit untill 2032.

They're following the same pattern that led to Dodgers domination.

Project vs non-project manager:

- A project manager creates a style of play.
- A non-project manager tailors his game to suit his existing players.

- A project manager could take a season to build a team and perfect their style.
- A non-project manager could take a few weeks. - A project manager will likely try to reduce the average age of his players as they are expected to grow together and form a synergy.

- A non-project manager is likely to go for more experienced players to sustain his immediate winning demands.

A defeat in 9, Boehly putting together an impressive scouting team and structure, recovered in Champions League, which will earn us a few extra million, yet our fanbase is losing sleep over a defeat and the length of the project and restructuring. How can't you see the signs? I can be emotionally passing these messages bcos I've strong belief in it. Every manager has that tactical madness in him. I remember when Klopp came in, having basketball scores in games, I was thinking, is he insane but he insisted, bought better CB & GK the following season.

Football is like Business only if fans see it that way. In business, you start up projecting the sustainability of your future and work for it, not for the money you will make immediately. If you focus on immediate money, you will crash in no time because you have no foundation. Football is the same, if you focus so much on what you will win today, you will crash after a year or two and reset because the urge to win today will force you into reckless decisions. You can win but won't be sustained. Chelsea have been on that road for far too long.

Jamie Carragher: "If they go with Havertz and almost like a different system, like a false nine, then I don’t think we will see Lukaku at the club next season."

I said the same on Mah's Space.
I will explain why 👇 A Thread Romelu is a very emotional person, and his peace of mind is more important to him than money. If he's not happy he demands a move. He did it before at Chelsea and Manchester United.

I want to use this picture to explain what I have been saying about our line being too high.

When you have a forward who wants to run behind, you need to create space for him with your defensive line. Here Chelsea’s defensive line is clearly at the center of the pitch. Image If it's Liverpool, (a team who likes to dominate the ball), they normally keep their defensive line at the center of their own half not centre of the pitch. That way, the players will squeeze into the 2nd third of the pitch and leave space in the final third for the attackers.

Tuchel: "You have to fight hard if you want to make it at Chelsea, it’s so much harder than most of the clubs in Europe. It’s a reality and we cannot start to be political and prefer somebody from the academy over another player if he does not provide the same level... Tuchel: "because in the end we are here to win football games and to play and to push the group to the highest level. This is what Trevoh did and I’m more than happy to have him and happy about how he managed to make his way through to first team football on this level."

Timo Werner: "It just felt right for me to change clubs now, you always say that you should go when it's best. It was time to use the momentum and go to a world-class club. At Chelsea, I want to become a figure that you can trust and rely on, just like in Leipzig."

{Kicker} Werner: "They not just offered an exciting package, but also gave the best feeling and tried extremely hard for me. They actually called a lot and really tried with all their heart to convince me of Chelsea. I felt in every conversation that I was really wanted..."

John Terry: "Frank has done unbelievable since he's come in, and I think the expectation level wasn't there but I think helped him as well. The boys he had on loan at Derby last year served him well and have helped him. Mason Mount and Fikayo have been excellent." Terry: "Tammy scoring 26 goals for us at Villa, coming back full of confidence. And actually the option not to buy players has actually probably helped Lamps bcos he understands them as well. I did a quote b4 the season saying what Frank's appointment will do for the academy"

Hazard: “Possession! Possession! Sarri likes possession! He’s a lot about statistics. Numbers. Possession. Shooting. Goal opportunity. In the past, we used to play more counterattack. It is different with Sarri than with Conte and Mourinho." #cfc Hazard: "Sometimes we keep possession, and I understand the fans want us to go forward [more directly], but it is part of the football. Sarri is a great manager. He’s an old man but the way he thinks is the same way I think about football."

Gabriele Marcotti: “In [Sarri’s] mind, he’s not having a meltdown. This business about Chelsea being this incredibly impatient club, certainly Sarri’s been at more or just as impatient clubs in the past, but it’s also kind of a myth. Marcotti: "The last two managers Chelsea went through, [Antonio] Conte and [Jose] Mourinho, Conte effectively sacked himself and Mourinho got the whole club in all sorts of legal issues and the brink of the relegation zone. Before that, you actually go through it.. "

Training started with Chelsea's players playing with the ball at the back, producing one-touch passes, before a whistled signal from Sarri.

The ball will be handed to Jorginho and the entire team would break at speed, the move eventually ending once Alvaro Morata had scored. An exercise in how to go from back to front in less than 10 seconds essentially.
If they scored, Sarri would shout: 'Again.' If they missed: 'Again.' If they messed it up midway through: 'Again.' Repetitive, but the new boss wants this to become second nature.
