Okay, re-posting this last one and creating a thread, because this gets really weird. Ready? Fifteen minutes after I took this photo, I get up to leave. An American guy walks up to me and says, "Are you Robert Weide?" I answer affirmatively, and say, "How could you... 1/5 possibly know that?" since the name is famous, but the face is not. He says, "I'm a big fan and I follow you on Twitter, and I just popped in to look at Tweets and I saw your photo about the guy in the Curb T-shirt, and saw the plate that said 'Cafe de Paris' and... 2/5

Happy New Year!
A lot of caring people have checked in with me this week to ask if I’m “all right,” knowing that my dear wife, Linda Weide, passed away on X-mas Day last year. Since the 1-year anniversary was approaching, they thought it might be especially rough on me (1/13)

during the holiday season. To everyone who inquired, thank you. The short answer is, yes, I’m fine. In this thread, I’ll share just a little bit of that “anniversary” experience, as well as some holiday-season photos through the years. (2/13)

It was a big deal for Keith Gordon and me to nab Alan Arkin to play the role of George Kraft in our 1996 production of "Mother Night," based on the Vonnegut novel. To an already impressive cast (Nick Nolte, John Goodman, David Strathairn, Kirsten Dunst, Sheryl Lee) ...1/6 ...we were downright giddy to add Arkin to the roster. Not only does he never disappoint in a role, he gives you so much more than you expect. Watching his performance on set, with the cameras rolling, my initial thought was, "He's not DOING anything!" ...2/6

I thought I'd go where the action is, but it's unusually quiet. Where is everybody? #StandWithUkrain Lest anyone mistake me for being brave, that photo was taken in Kyiv 9 years ago. Here are some others.

An open Tweet thread for #AmyHerdy, #AmyZiering, #KirbyDick, @JaneDoeFilms & @HBODocs. Someone sent me a clip of your big “Gotcha” moment from Episode 4 where you try to discredit @MosesFarrow’s claim that there was no functioning electric train set in the crawl space... 1/5 ...described in such detail by @RealDylanFarrow in her 2014 piece in @NickKristof’s @nytimes column. Your supposed “checkmate” move presents a diagram of this space from the police report, showing a circle with the words “Toy Train Track.” *Cue ominous music.* 2/5 Image

Please take a moment to read the attached list of actor’s names. Then read the tweet thread that follows to reveal what they all have in common. (1/21) This list presents just a sampling of actors who have either loudly spoken out in #WoodyAllen’s defense over the past year, or have stated their refusal to denounce him, or at very least, chosen to remain neutral despite social media pressure to throw Allen under the bus. I recently learned that a reporter teaching journalism at Brooklyn College had given an assignment to his class, using the allegation against #WoodyAllen as a model for an exercise in critical thinking. I asked the professor about the results, and attached is his response. (1/7) Image These findings verify everything I believe about where public opinion would stand if more people were exposed to both sides of this story (and had to back up their beliefs among others exposed to the same information).
