an easier explanation would be that after like 3-4 years of AI content being absolutely crammed into every inch of online, and the people posting it demanding that they be treated as geniuses and conquerors or trying to trick people into thinking its real, people are tired of it. What really bugs me with all the talk about AI that’s been happening is that the pro-AI position, “now anyone can make art”, is a lie, because anyone could make art before. You can. You can right now, and you’ll have a lot of fun with it. This is removing the joy you can take out of messing around and seeing what happens to joylessly pressing a button to make something that you think of as a product more than an expression. It’s not wanting to make art, it’s wanting to have art made for you.
