Here are five things "I think" with the Seahawks as the negotiating window opens.

These have a chance to look silly over the next few days, so feel free to throw them back in my face if they're wrong (not that you would have waited for an invitation to do so).

Here we go ... 1) Of the Seahawks' top six UFAs, I think Josh Jobe has the best chance of re-signing. He had some of the best coverage numbers of any corner last season (see timeline). A self-made guy who seems to have the mindset/approach they want. My guess: he's back for around $10M/year.

The Seahawks' final three possessions vs. Dallas ended with failed fourth-down plays. Here's a look at each of them along with Pete Carroll's explanations to @BrockHuard and @TheMikeSalk on his @SeattleSports radio show, as well as his Zoom call with beat reporters. Fourth-and-1, 7:08 to go.

Carroll noted how DeMarcus Lawrence (90) was lined up abnormally wide. Based on that alignment, Charles Cross understandably didn't think he'd slant into the B gap. But Carroll said Cross needed to be more conservative in his angle in case Lawrence did.

Seahawks practice is over. Easily their most intense and chippiest of camp. A couple brief scuffles, including one between Dee Eskridge and Jerrick Reed. Lots of hooting, hollering etc. CB Tre Brown had a good day. Jumped an out route in one-on-ones for an INT. Nearly had an identical pick later, but Cody Thompson broke it up. Brown remains the No. 1 left CB, ahead of top pick Devon Witherspoon. Seattle's CB room is as talented and deep as it's been in years.

Pete Carroll spoke with reporters at the combine this morning and teammate @Jeff_Legwold was nice enough to send me the audio. A few notes to follow ... Carroll took the high road when asked about @TheAthletic report that Russell Wilson wanted him fired. Said he's always going to stick with players he's coached, "through the good stuff and the bad stuff." Added: "If you hang with them, it all comes back around."

The Seahawks list WR Tyler Lockett and four others as questionable for their must-win finale vs. the Rams -- S Ryan Neal, LG Damien Lewis, RG Phil Haynes, DE Quinton Jefferson.

RB Travis Homer is doubtful.

Pete Carroll said Wednesday that Lockett (shin) is determined to play. OLB Uchenna Nwosu didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday (foot) but doesn't have a game designation, meaning he's healthy enough to play. We'll hear from Pete Carroll in about 40 minutes.

Quick hits from Carroll presser: “No way I could imagine” playing without Metcalf … Still want to re-sign Geno but they haven’t been able to agree to a deal yet … Would still be looking to add a QB on top of Smith, tho not necessarily a vet … D. Brown/Shell still options at OT Carroll reiterated that “things changed” after he said he had no intention of trading Wilson. “We got a really good deal, so we went ahead and made it. It took a long time to get to that though. We had a long process where I didn’t think we would do it …”

The tributes you're seeing about John Clayton -- from media colleagues to NFL players, teams, owners -- tells you how big of a force he was in our industry and how well he treated people in it. He was a Hall of Famer and a living legend, yet he always made you feel like a peer. I had the pleasure of knowing John for over a decade, first as co-workers at 710 ESPN Seattle. He would have me on his radio when I was just starting my reporting career, when no one -- let alone someone as big as him -- should have been having me on any radio shows.

Pete Carroll was asked if the Seahawks think they can win a championship in 2022 with Drew Lock as their starter. Lots to digest in his lengthy response: Image Clear from this comment and others today (on top of what I've heard myself) that while they'll continue to look at QBs, they see Lock as a legitimate option in '22. Carroll also alludes to how they think some tough circumstances in Denver contributed to Lock's struggles there.

Pete Carroll begins the presser with a long, passionate filibuster about second chances. Said that’s what Russell Wilson wanted in Denver and what Drew Lock is getting in Seattle. Said of Wilson: “We wish him the freakin’ very best. He was an awesome player for us.” Image John Schneider: “So much respect for Bobby, Russell … Both guys are going to be missed obviously, but we’re excited to be moving forward.”

Redmond PD Chief Darrell Lowe said Richard Sherman — arrested on suspicion of burglary domestic violence — is not accused of assaulting a family member. He’s accused of trying to force entry into his in-laws’ residence. That relationship explains the DV nature of the arrest. Per Lowe, Sherman was also arrested on suspicion of malicious mischief as a result of damage to the residence’s door. He said Sherman tried to walk away after being told he was under arrest then physically resisted, and that he has minor injuries as a result of that altercation.
