In the report, "The Battery Mineral Loop," @RockyMtnInst presents a comprehensive strategy to tackle the rising demand for battery minerals. Contrary to popular belief, battery minerals are not the new oil.

Tread below ⤵️⤵️⤵️ Image As battery demand escalates, the forces of efficiency, innovation, and circularity are set to drive peak demand for mined minerals within a decade — potentially avoiding mineral extraction entirely by 2050.

Truly amazing global #smartenergysystems news!

Power 2 X upscaled big time before expected time.

- 1 GW electrolysis connected to #offshorewind from 2026

- 600.000 tons of green ammonia

- #districtheating for about 9.000 households in @EsbjergKommune and @vardekommune 2/5

- Europe's biggest green ammonia plant. Gigantic European upscaling potential.

- saves 1.5 mio tons of CO2 (most likely to be accounted in the Dutch carbon books)

- game changer in size and first mover in that scale, within the five biggest globally

Wind power cannot be blamed for electricity outages in Texas. Bad legislation, ownership models and worn out old electricity distribution grids can. Trust me - I come from a country with 50% wind power combined with well run grids and much colder weather (Denmark). 2/7
Certainly the extreme cold right now is very unusual and also makes it ok with an outage for a few hours. But days is more a systematic failure in my opinion. Also note that this phenomenon is connected to climate change!
