There seems to be a lot of confusion about what is happening with the IL population after yesterday's Census data release. Let's dive into the data, what it shows (and doesn't show), and how to interpret the different estimates the Census Bureau has reported. Yesterday, the Census Bureau released their Post-Enumeration Survey, which determined that the 2020 census undercounted the IL household population by 1.97%. These results have led politicians and members of the media to come to some incorrect conclusions regarding IL population.
