On #VeteransDay the National Building Museum says thank you to all who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Our historic home has a direct connection to America's military past. 1/x Built 1882-87, it was created to house the U.S. Pension Bureau & to commemorate the service of those who fought on the side of the Union during the Civil War. It was also designed to provide a suitably grand space for Washington's social and political functions. 2/x
