⚠️Today, Sept 1, @Avaaz & Reporters Without Borders are coordinating over 150 media outlets in at least 50 countries to push a scripted narrative framing Israel as deliberately killing journalists and blocking press freedom. ⚠️This is a centrally organized campaign, timed to influence UN votes on Palestinian statehood later this month [screenshots below].

THREAD: Countless media outlets are whitewashing terrorists as “journalists.”

This lie endangers real reporters, and rewrites history to demonize 🇮🇱 Israel. 1/ In April 2025, Foreign Policy magazine claimed Israel’s war with Hamas “has killed more journalists than WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Yugoslavia combined.”

THREAD: Dara Horn’s seminal 2021 essay collection "People Love Dead Jews" argues that the world often prefers to view Jewish people as victims of history, not as living people with rights today.

The United Nations' record is just one painful example of this... 2/ Israel is a democracy that has been engaged in multiple defensive wars.

But the UN has held over 20 urgent sessions on 🇮🇱-more than on Syria’s civil war, China’s Uyghur camps, or Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
