Today, I announced the commencement of free and qualitative education across all Government owned Nursery and Primary Schools, including government owned secondary schools covering Junior Secondary School Students (JSS 1 - 3).





This is not about tuition fees, but every other dues and levies running into thousands of Naira for Students per term. It is enshrined in our constitution that the State must provide free basic education where practicable.

Today, I signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) to ensure that power supply in the state is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The signing of the MoU took place today at the Anambra State Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Awka.

Today is a historic day for the people and the state.

Finally, I met the Anambra record-breaking wonder kid, young Chinonso Eche (@ChinonsoEche), who is 14 years old and holds the Guinness Book of Records football Freestyle talent award for a record five (5) times. As a football lover, Chinonso thrilled my wife and me with breathtaking moves. His control of the round leather orb is undoubtedly next to perfect.

I commiserate with the victims of the recent fire outbreak in a section of the Onitsha main market. As a government, we are deeply concerned about the safety of the business environment and are working round the clock to provide lasting solutions to these kinds of mishaps. We are already looking into quite a number of issues around our various markets.

I am happy to announce the launch of the Solution Innovation District. This is part of our effort to develop the Amambra digital tribe to shore up our human capital base. To achieve this, I have signed a partnership agreement with Microsoft Africa and Wootlab Foundations. This strategic partnership will see to the training of 20,000 Anambra youths on various digital skills.

History Beckons and I will not be Silent (Part 1)

Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR My attention has been drawn to some of the tirades on social media following my frank response during an interview on Channels TV regarding the “investments” Mr. Peter Obi claimed to have made with Anambra state revenues.

I visited Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on Friday, 13th May, 2022 to felicitate with him and also as part of the wider consultations with critical stakeholders in search of lasting peace and security in the South East. He was in very high spirits and we had quality and frank discussion in a very convivial atmosphere.

The fate of our public schools is like those of our aged parents who depend solely on their children for survival after years of valuable contributions to making the children who they have become today. It is with this in mind that discerning ndị Anambra have gone back to inject life into public Primary and Secondary schools within our local communities.

As we commence the Holy week, I want us to reflect on "Mass irrationality". Often times, it appears correct, logical or even conventional until one voice decides to stand different. Daily, our young boys are taken into the bush, made to swear dubious oath of secrecy and commissioned to unleash terror on their people.

This is the third week since I was sworn in as the Governor of Anambra State. In line with my promise to the people and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 20 Commissioners have been sworn in today after going through the statutory screening at the State Assembly The 21st Commissioner will also be sworn in next week after being cleared by the House of Assembly.

This is happening on a Saturday, unusually so because the business of Anambra under my watch can be carried out 24/7.

Following the unanimous agreement of our leaders across board, and the endorsement of the entire body of Christ, I am pleased to inform our people that today, Monday April 4, 2022 marks the official end to the "Monday sit-at-home" in Anambra State. Shortly, I will be announcing the membership of the Peace and Reconciliation Committee that will look into addressing all areas of sincere challenge, including interfacing with the Federal Government on behalf of all Prisoners of conscience.
