I invest in conservative, old-school companies that gush free cash flow and pay dividends. It's boring, but it works. Not investment advice.

Buffett's biographer Alice Schroeder did a Reddit AMA 12 years ago.
It's filled with Buffett wisdom that 99.9% of folks have never seen before. Here are some of the highlights:

I thought the British stock market was cheap and filled with bargains.
But it's nothing compared to France. France is *ridiculously* cheap.
Here are 7 of the cheapest stocks I could find, names that are trading way below comparable names in different countries:
1. Carrefour $CA.PA
- Leading European and South American grocer
- 14,000 stores around the world
- Strong work in private label
- Rapidly expanding discount arm
- Repurchased 20% of shares outstanding since 2020
- Trades at 8x fwd. earnings
- 7%+ dividend yield

Yield: 6.5%
Payout ratio: 32%

AMA
Going to start it off with a few questions submitted ahead of time in the DMs.

Learned this week about the Mittelstand, a unique group of German companies (and, to a lesser degree, British, who, ahem, borrowed the term), small-to-medium sized companies with unique attributes that can really apply to investing. Time for a thread...
These companies are very successful and well positioned to survive economic turbulence. They have revenues in the 50M Euro range and a maximum 500 employees. They're characterized by a common set of values and management practices, including:
