Yvette Cooper says the findings from Baroness Casey’s audit are “damning.”

“At its heart she identifies a deep-rooted failure to treat children as children. A continued failure to protect children and teenage girls from rape, from exploitation, and serious violence.“ She slams authorities for “too little sharing of information, too much reliance on flawed data, too much denial, too little justice and too many criminals getting off, too many victims being let down.”

Image Greenwood and survivors have previously told GB News that the scale of the scandal in Bradford would ‘dwarf’ Rotherham, the town most notoriously associated with CSE.

This new dossier of evidence was handed to Safeguarding Minister Jess Phillips in a meeting today.

On BBC Any Questions Reform’s @montie raises coverage of abuse gangs and Labour’s Lucy Powell - leader of the House of Commons - accuses him of blowing “a little trumpet”.

She adds: “Let’s get that dog whistle out shall we yeah?” I’ve heard some horrified and shocked reactions from victims hearing this clip.

And a Reform spokesman has said her comments “are nothing short of abhorrent.”

“Keir Starmer should now be considering her position in Government, is she really fit to serve with these comments?”

Tom Crowther KC, who is set to chair the Oldham CSE inquiry, has told the Home Affairs committee that statutory powers to compel witnesses would not have made a difference for the Telford inquiry.

He said that a witness if summoned could simply say that they "don’t remember". Image Mr Crowther said he saw the role of chairing the Telford inquiry via "an advert in Guardian Jobs."

He added that the Telford inquiry was designed to not look like a court, with people being invited to give evidence "over tea and biscuits" and that "nobody was cross-examined."

Jade, not her real name, has spoken to @GBNEWS about her grooming abuse gangs ordeal for the first time.

Her father also came forward to describe how he spent countless nights desperately searching for her in Oldham, hunting for the gangs that ruthlessly passed her around. Image

An IOPC whistleblower has told @thetimes that the investigation into Rotherham abuse gang failures “barely scratched the surface” and deliberately avoided senior police officers.

The probe examined 47 officers. None lost their jobs. The most severe sanction? A written warning. Image @thetimes Op Linden received a lot of criticism when published in 2022. Survivors have told me it's not worth the paper it's printed on.

But now a whistleblower claims its standards were poor and there was “no desire” to uncover the reasons behind the failings.

Jess Phillips has expressed anger tonight at the slow response to child abuse inquiries.

Oldham Council wrote to her in July asking for a government inquiry. GB News revealed that she wrote back — saying no — almost four months later.

Will she apologise to Oldham survivors? In her interview with @AnushkaAsthana, Jess Phillips confirms she has yet to speak to any Oldham survivors.

Yet she still was confident enough to deny their request for a government-led inquiry.

How can you make that decision without speaking to the victims?

This conversation sparked by the abuse gangs scandal is spiralling into political gossip.

Let's bring it back to what matters: the survivors and getting the action they need.

So far, the government’s response to the demand for a national public inquiry has been to point to the IICSA report.

Bashing Elon Musk's amplification of calls for a public inquiry, Wes Streeting said that we’ve already had a report into grooming gangs so we don’t need another.

But what did the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse actually find out about grooming gangs?

In this thread I'll go through why many victims and campaigners think the report didn't do enough on the gangs.Image Published in 2022 after seven years, IICSA had a broad brief, which included all forms of exploitation.

Grooming gangs were lumped in with other abuse networks, while other subjects like online abuse, the Catholic Church, and care homes got their own investigation. Image
