21 yrs ago my wife Patty & I began a journey as best friends in love, sharing a profession (law), softball, music, movies, trashy reality TV, travel, & dear friends. Then we shifted into family mode with our 9 yr old girl-boy twins, bouncing thru all the ups & downs of life. 1/5

One aspect important for the ED Dept to hear about is the impact of a federal rule that would essentially require schools to “socially transition” kids & 1/7
facilitate students “choosing a gender,” being treated in all aspects as the opposite sex (or sexless), & pursuing medicalization. For 50 years Title IX has meant schools can’t exclude or deny educational benefits based on sex. Now it would mean nearly all US schools become 2/7

But there’s no definable group called “trans,” so there’s no basis for judging what the “naturally occurring rate of trans” might be. It’s no more implausible for 50% (or 80% or 100%) of girls to “be trans” than 1%, b/c there is no coherent or measurable quality of “transness.”
The high rates in certain populations (eg, young girls) is not a rate of “being trans” but of “using a trans label.” Social contagion can’t “spread” an actual characteristic (eg, homosexuality), but it can spread a label (eg “transboy”) or a behavior (eg, hair styles or slogans).

The destructiveness of gender identity ideology isn’t that belief in a “gender identity” is a “mental illness.” There’s still, as ever, only a tiny fraction of people who experience debilitating distress arising from being the sex they are, & cross-sex identification can be 1/4
