This evening, the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) has commenced planning and begun activating forces to support the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador following an unprecedented winter storm. Our expected tasks will be to assist with snow removal, provide residents with transportation to warming or emergency centres, & ensure the elderly & those with health concerns are cared for.

We stand with Canadians in their time of need. Your community is also our community.

The phased and responsible termination of the #OpPRESENCE rotation with @UN_MINUSMA in #Mali begins today. We are ending transport aviation tasks to focus solely on medical evacuation operations until the end of August. Over the past year, our peacekeepers conducted more than 100 transport missions, flying nearly 3,500 hours in support of @UN_MINUSMA and @UNPeacekeeping in #Mali.
