THREAD: My brother & I grew up in Zambia in the 70’s & 80’s coming to live in the UK in our mid teens. Remaining in contact with loved ones was hard. There was no internet back then and phone lines were terrible in central Africa. Using the postal service was a gamble. 1/
Years later and Facebook arrived. My brother set up a group for the town we had grown up in whilst in Zambia. People started to reconnect, sharing stories and catching up. Over the last 10 years the group has grown to 27,000 members, most of whom live in the town. 2/
