#FieldworkFriday features Taylorann Smith, who studies the physical enviro of Kelp Forests. Her research focuses on how attenuated flow can affect transport & cause microplastic accumulation in these ecosystems. Her research interests were inspired by an @EVNautilus internship... Smith was an Ocean Science intern on the E/V Nautilus in Fall 2019. She was responsible for watching live deep sea footage, documenting discoveries, processing collected samples, and typing up reports of the 30+ hour ROV dives.
