The sun is rising slowly on another ANZAC day
While all across this country monuments catch that first ray.
Though this year it is different to all those that went before
Day we remember fallen, from all conflict and all war. There's no assembled masses, and no veterans in the crowd
There's no police force escort for parade marching so proud.
No poignant moving speeches or traditional sung hymn
No diggers telling stories of lost battle or lost limb
