One benefit of court hearings collapsing is that I can attend this. Looks like an interesting day. ImageImage First substantive talk is going to be about mediation, which will be very interesting, given how my views have changed about the efficacy of this in heated parental disputes. hopefully I will be able to tweet some highlights but await house rules announcement.

Hopefully starting soon the afternoon session of Day 36 of the Webberley Tribunal @tribunaltweets 13.33 checking everyone can hear. Question for IS - had the Panel got the correct date in para 5 'so far as the issue of relevance is concerned....' HW mentions it was written after 5th April 2019.

Hello @tribunaltweets! I am afraid I can't log into the account as it requires a code number sent to mobile phone. So I will start tweeting here. Day 36 of the Helen Webberley Tribunal. An epic journey of rain and traffic jams, made it only 5 minutes late and in time to catch... .... what appears to be quite a bad tempered clash between SJ and IS (Dr W's barrister). Something to do with a rule 7 statement that has not been seen by the panel. I think SJ wants them to see something in relation to charge 26. The 'Gender GP matters'.

At tonight's discussion looking at pattern of removing new born babies into care - this has more than doubled in the last decade. Often removed straight after birth and with little notice of proceedings. For 1 in 6 mothers, cases issued and heard on the same day. Hard for mothers to engage and get proper legal support in place. This can mean judges making life changing decisions on limited information.

Interesting comments from the President - ref to Today programme interview with adopters. Seems to be accepting that adoption disruption rates are nearer 25% than the lower rates from the Bristol Study. Do we therefore need to think more carefully about how we 'do' adoption? What we do at the moment is 'clunky'. Set order for contact at the outset and suspect no one goes near it again to vary it. In most cases, ought we to have a review of contact arrangements 2 years down the track?
