I think Schitt’s Creek deserved all those Emmys, but the other shows were also incredibly deserving. I think it is also fair to say that Schitt’s Creek benefitted, awards wise, from being an incredibly heartwarming show in a time when everyone was devouring comforting content!
My other hot take? Nightly late night shows should be a separate category from weeklies! It’s a different grind. But also, I don’t care *that* much? Because ultimately, everyone working on these shows has already kinda won at life?

We talked about the spectacle! But we did not talk about the musicality. One thing I love about ANY Prince guitar solo is that he knows the direction he is moving toward & they always resolve perfectly, both rhythmically & musically no matter what he reaches for along the way.
It’s a much more rare talent than you’d think. Even the greatest guitarists sometimes improv too hard & get in the weeds & soon you have to admit to yourself you stopped enjoying it 3 minutes ago. Prince was a savant. He could point at the sky & hit a Grand Slam every time.

Picking out this tweet from this entire thread, which is interesting. The empowerment challenge was probs just a fluffy low-stakes way for women to gas each other up & not co-opted from a Turkish femicide awareness campaign. BUT now we know more about domestic violence in Turkey.
I’m glad someone I love asked me to post a pic. I didn’t ask anyone I love to post a pic because I didn’t want to annoy anyone, which in turn probably hurt people who felt disincluded. I’m sad but eager to learn more about the situation in Turkey & help if I can.

Seems like everyone is talking subtle sexism/misogyny on here today. I have a million stories. But this one is recent. During “Busy Tonight” the show’s publicist asked if I could do an interview with a journalist. A man.
Even though I was bummed women were not being assigned to cover the show, I said, “Sure!” He asked me a few...whatever...questions. Then he said, “Conan has a podcast. Fallon does really popular exclusive web content, as does Colbert. Kimmel too...

So many messages telling those who are struggling to reach out. Fair enough, but part of what depression does is mutes your ability to reach. If you are NOT depressed & you see someone struggling, YOU reach out. If you don’t see someone who used to be around, YOU reach out.
It can be kind of scary to a regular person who thinks they don’t know what to do. It is certainly awkward as hell. Who cares, though? Ask, “Are you ok?” Say, “I am worried about you.” Ask, “Can I get in touch with someone for you?” Even here on Twitter. Don’t mind your business.

Any journalist saying Michelle Wolf attacked Sarah Huckabee Sanders for her looks is not a very good journalist. Lordy, there are tapes! You just outed yourself as someone unable to relay basic, fresh-from-the-oven facts!
