A Minnesota county has agreed to a $12.2 million settlement after a man who was jailed on suspicion of DUI lost his hands, suffered a heart attack and a stroke, and ended up with a flesh-eating bacteria, allegedly due to the inaction of officials in the county jail.

🧵 In August 2020, Terrance Dwayne Winborn was arrested in a suburb of Minneapolis under suspicion of DUI.

His BAC measured 0.13% at the jail, the legal limit for driving is 0.08%.

Later that morning, after his blood alcohol content returned to zero, he began vomiting.

The race massacre that began on September 30th, 1919 in Elaine, Arkansas left an estimated (exact numbers are unknown) 200 Black men, women, & children dead.

They were murdered by the Arkansas National Guard and racist vigilantes who assisted them.

Just ten days prior, Julie was denied a protective order against Charles.

Several Rankin County, Mississippi sheriff’s deputies are being investigated by the Department of Justice for possible civil rights violations.

The deputies have been involved in at least four separate violent encounters with Black men since 2019 that has left two dead. Two of the men allege that Rankin County sheriff’s deputies shoved guns into their mouths during separate encounters.

Michael Corey Jenkins said six white deputies burst into a home where he was visiting a friend, and one put a gun in his mouth and fired.
