Just in time for Halloween, the story of the voodoo doctor’s murder 😱
Obie Lee Roddie/Roddy, orig fr GA, appears in the Knoxville City Directory 1943-1948. His jobs during that time, incl bellboy at the Farragut Hotel (now our cross street neighbor, @hyattplaceknoxville). But his death certificate lists a very different occupation & the motive for his death: herb doctor. One of Mr. Roddie’s neighbors, Alberta Jefferson, convinced that she & her husband were hexed, shot him in the face. Police reports say that he would have died almost instantly.
