The debate around whether news organizations are best supported by direct support vs. the work of auxiliary orgs/programs would benefit from a cash flow analysis of said organizations. I believe it's a "yes and" solution, but the reality of lack of cash is real and scary. 🧵 I've read the responses from both sides of the equation. There has been growth, and much can be attributed to increased knowledge and access to better systems. Organizations like @INN and @LIONPubs play an incredible role in the fight for the sustainability of local news.
