What’s a general statement about people/life that gets parroted all the time but isn’t actually backed by any data?

My favorites are “divorce is at an all time high” and “moderate drinking is good for you” Oh, and a pregnancy one: “stress about food safety is going to hurt the baby more than wine/deli meat/etc”

If you’ve ever wasted 2+ years of a woman’s 20s only to say “alas, you just weren’t The One” you lose all right to make fun of women for being 30 and unmarried lol “Oh so you think it’s ok to make fun of people who are 30 and unmarried if you haven’t wasted anyone’s 20s?!?” Yes that’s obviously the main takeaway here you win!!

A lot of men on Twitter seem to be under a collective delusion that 15 years ago, there were hot Barbie-esque women working at every restaurant. The truth is, 15 years ago you didn’t have Instagram and normal women seemed hotter. Like I’m not hating on either of these women but women didn’t get uglier….your standard of “normal” and “beautiful” is just completely haywire now.

Not a fan of SSRIs, I think they have some really terrible and long lasting side effects that doctors don’t tell you about.

However I’ve seen them help people with depression so they’re not like…evil but I’d think twice about use for anxiety

I also know people who were mistakenly prescribed SSRIs for non-depression conditions and developed horrible long lasting side effects AND people who become dependent on them to the point that they continually need a larger dose. Not good!

Do they actually think that the majority of women over 45 are spinster cat ladies as opposed to moms with teenagers?

Or that white women are less likely to get married and have kids than other races?

Let’s start with the fact that I’m guessing white people have better access to mental healthcare and less stigma around it, and there’s less stigma for women than men

As the wife of an actual Greek man, these trad accounts need to stop obsessing over “our” culture lol. In a real Greek family your entire life revolves around pleasing a 95 year old matriarch who would think these accounts were possessed by demons. I have never met a Greek family (in Greece) that wasn’t obviously fun by the ancient grandmother, with the mom in 2nd place.

Twitter is full of women who see this pic and think “back then I’d be the happy big tiddy bimbo who other women side eye for being hot” but I’ve interacted with enough of you to know that in the 60s you’d all be in mental asylums “What a pick me, you think YOU’RE special?” No I would also be in the asylum
