I am struggling to make sense of this state that I love. The state legislature has passed a “stand your ground bill” that we know will result in more gun death and will disproportionately hurt people who are not protected by white skin like mine. I live in a state that passed a bill that forces victims of rape & incest to give birth if they become pregnant because of a horrible traumatic experience to which they never consented.

Tomorrow SB6 will be before the Public Health and Welfare Committee. This state Bill is a ban on abortion with no exception for rape, incest, or fetal anomalies which are incompatible with life, has already passed the Senate and will go on to the house if it gets out of the Committee.
