All these dudes have legit reasons for not pitching for USA in WBC, but every pitcher in the league has a legit reason too.
Fact is, Mexico has their #1 pitcher (Urías), so does DR (Sandy), PR (Díaz), Venezuela (M. Pérez/P. López), Japan (Ohtani/Darvish).
With money at play/injury risk I totally understand why guy don't wanna do it, but it's notable that other countries get their best to pitch.

Phillies bullpen the most entertaining docudrama on TV
On our podcast I randomly hitched my wagon to the Phillies this year for absolutely no reason. Stoked and horrified to have them as my adopted NL team all season long!

something I’ve thought a lot about entering this weird season is all the guys who are going to make their MLB debuts this season in front of no fans, friends, or family — just empty stadiums. it’s obviously necessary, but it’s an unfortunate circumstance for those players
players in MLB history: 19,683
you could fit every big leaguer ever into Madison Square Garden with room to spare! that’s not a lot of people! making the Majors is so difficult!!!
so cheers to those who make that dream a reality in 2020, even if no one is there to see it

In honor of Adrián Beltré retiring here’s a thread of all of his best, goofiest and most wonderful moments.
The dude was such a vehicle of baseball joy and we’ll all miss his antics.
That time the umpire told him he was too close to the batter and had to stand on the on-deck circle so he just dragged the circle to where he was standing before and then the ump tossed him.
