🧵Imagine a study came out like this about anything else, let's say the drinking water in the water fountains at your kids school. Would you tell them to fill their water bottles up from it everyday? Right, but you're all ok letting them get infection after infection in class and 2/wonder why you're all so sick this Xmas and never been this ill before? Come on, WAKE THE F UP!
Each holiday you're ill, every few weeks you all come down with something. But you still want to believe in immunity debt? And herd immunity? FFS no wonder the tories are

🧵Everyone has "this cough virus flu thing that's worse than covid"
No babe, seriously this is after you've had covid several times so now any virus you have you can't shift easily.

I've had neither covid nor this "cough virus that's not covid" 🙄cos we avoid it like the plague 2/To all the "it's with us for life now though isn't it when you gonna live your life?"
Erm who missed Christmas? Not me, we were all healthy and enjoyed every minute..who was sick and missed it?
Hmm a mask in work and shops or ill in bed for Christmas? You chose living with it..

🧵They really did a number on you huh? You're really going to swallow that kids are dying because they stayed at home for a couple of weeks 2 years ago?
COVID, it's COVID, I'm sorry but it's COVID! I'm sorry that's difficult for you to hear because you thought exposing them 2/multiple times over and over with COVID would be fine..but it wasn't fine. It was never fine. You were repeatedly LIED to, they were repeatedly harmed.
It's COVID. COVID has weakened their immune systems not strengthened it. Instead of feeling bad... get mad! Mad at the leaders

🧵When school has a known case of strep A & they acknowledge its highly contagious. But don't worry cos the letter to us parents states they have extremely good hand & respiratory hygiene.
The protocol is quite spectacular!
The protocol:
*They use handgel
*They cough in tissues Image 2/They do mention the word ventilation in all fairness (my emails have finally got through on that one it seems) they say they will still open windows. How very generous, except as usual this isn't always the case because when I picked my daughter up for lunch the other day as I

🧵Almost like this was a bad idea huh?! I wrote an email in response to the schools newsletter, made it clear that this is reckless given strep A and COVID are very much circulating. It was ignored.
However recieved a message THIS AFTERNOON to say there's a CASE of STREP A!! 2/ I outlined my concerns lastnight in the email & told them it could lead to a strep outbreak if parents felt emboldened to send in sick kids needing Calpol for sore throats & feeling unwell. And here we are! I was also notified of a COVID case (only I get info on this.) Image

🧵High school just called "I've got your son here he's feeling sick do you want to come and get him?" (Lol I know my child is NOT sick I just know) I go pick him up because I know why he's done this. He gets in the car and I say "soo? You OK? and is it what I think?" He said "I'm 2/not sick but Mum SERIOUSLY there was 6 off in my class yesterday today it's 10 & even with my mask, window open & my filter on I did not want to be in that room! The ones who were NOT absent were coughing but I don't mean little coughs mum but like when I had bad night

🧵UPDATE those who knew about the call from school saying they were going to give me a FIXED PENALTY NOTICE for removing my child from a COVID ridden class before 1/2term..I called them out (& council)& used their own policies & the DfEs to argue. I'm now NOT being fined & 2/They apologised. Let me be clear.. you can monitor my child's attendance all you like, just as I will monitor the safety of your classrooms babe. I'll say again she is well looked after & has no gaps in her learning as backed up by her teacher at online parents evening. We will ImageImage

🧵Losing a loved one who's way too young to die followed by a pandemic sure does show you those who are with you
Not many rallied round (when I say this I mean my own PERSONAL experience, plenty of people held my family as a whole in their thoughts) people were kind, but for me Those that did, fell away pretty quickly, grief is too uncomfortable for some especially if you're not over it after a few months.

I'm still not over it.

🧵Had a BBQ yesterday, with another COVID cautious family (friend with 3 daughters) we all wore FFP2/3 masks, when the BBQ was ready we kept our masks on to load up our plates, we had virus wipes, individually wrapped items & husband obvs wore mask to bbq the sausage and burgers 2/We were outside the entire time in our fairly big garden, for eating, the other family sat at the table I'd set up & my kids wandered off with their burgers to sit on the trampoline (complete other end of the garden) & we were by the bbq (complete other side to the family)

🧵I've still NOT caught COVID. IT'S NOT INEVITABLE.
Nor have my kids!
Yes we mask
Yes we test...at least once a week to check.
We avoid crowds & indoor places.
We have fun

Anyway. Carry on.

Life isn't curtailed just cos we don't want to join the herd in pubs & restaurants⬇️ 2)Boats parade by the river

🧵The sheer arrogance & entitlemnent attitude of people NOT masking in indoor public events telling us to "stay home" & mask if we want but then walking into schools, work places or health care settings on Monday morning unmasked again where we can't avoid is mind blowingly crass These same places where you have to fight to get the window to be opened, who often have never heard of or care for what a HEPA filter is or does & where they don't mask but teach your child, treat your mum, work alongside you. It's gross. How is this personal responsibility?

🧵1 in 40 in England with COVID
1 in 20 in Scotland with COVID

No beds at my local hospital lastnight, I know because my mum needed one.
There were NO ambulances. Zero. NONE available & she couldn't BREATHE!
No beds.
No infusion that she needed. It's not arrived today either. She was lucky she had my dad race her there after scooping her off the floor, not wanting to wait hours to see if one became available.
Dr wanted her to be admitted and said (she'd come round a bit) she needed a bed. Unfortunately, more hours later he conceeded that one would

🧵High School caved. They WILL now open a window,FFS it's taken 5 months of being ignored & son home since Dec for them to engage. That's right, DECEMBER! It's guidance, it's public health, it's his RIGHT.
Yesterday they tried to argue that they have other kids to consider & some 2/ parents might* complain about the cold.
I very slowly and clearly said "that's no problem for you, you'll know exactly what to do, you can ignore them for 5 months instead of us. Next?"
Still banging on about the cold I interrupted with "it's June, the window will remain

🧵1)I get that you want to go to the theatre and the cinema and a restaurant and I couldn't care less that you do. But the attitude of "I don't need to wear a mask cos its not a rule anymore and anyone who's there is taking that risk too"...is all very well until you walk into 🧵2) work or school on Monday morning unmasked and pass it on to others who haven't been to those places and deliberately careful with what activities they choose to do BUT forced to school or fined or need to be in work and get Sars from you.
Selfish.

🧵Do tell me how a one year old who wasn't even in a lockdown has hepatitis due to *checks notes* a lockdown?
During the one proper lockdown we had every kid I encountered bar my own in shops were maskless & still able to catch illnesses.
Kids of keyworkers mixed in school & all 🧵2/5 were magically able to catch coughs/ colds and COVID but not the one that causes hep for their immune system??? On your bike I didn't believe you when on the front page it was "kids more likely to get run over by a bus than catch covid" and I DON'T BELIEVE IT NOW.

🧵School won't let my son sit in lessons with a window open in an airborne pandemic. They want to get him back to school and state its a priority. Apparently.
It wasn't a priority when they ignored us for 4 months and it doesn't seem like one now.
The result is he stays home!! 2/ whilst we await his second Jab I've requested; a part time phased return, window open, eats off site but returned for the second half of lunch so doesn't miss out. And doesn't join in whole assemblies/ singing. HT says no.
Hear me roaaaaar then. Not deregistering.

🧵Crazy how people think masking is a worse option than repeated illness. I will never understand this. My kids FFP2 have meant they've enjoyed life but never gotten COVID unlike their friends on 3rd infections. Some really quite poorly.
Will we get it? Possibly. But why give up? 2🧵Why decide a high viral load & multiple infections is better than trying to keep at bay? They'd happily don them if in Italy 🇮🇹 on holiday, well kids there wear them in primary. So is it just a vanity thing? Self conscious thing? Are my kids just more capable? No. It's just

🧵Nancy will be going in for lunchtime outdoor play at school today & once a week for outdoor PE. Compromising until vaccine roll out/& or lower community transmission. Also said I'm happy if in her group of 6,in a large ventilated space with open external doors/window for 2) Maths/English with her higher ability breakout group & that if they could arrange this for a large space like the studio rather than an unventilated pod we'd be happy for her to come in for those. 🧵It's the "guideline only followers" that baffle me. The ones who are not covidiots who aren't anti mask but are happy to just accept guidance or policy whatever it may be. Example..visiting granny in a care home. They'd happily wear a mask when mandated & test because they knew It would keep granny safe. But when it's not mandated and no longer need to wear a mask they're happy to have selfies with granny unmasked and not test? Why? Do they think her risk is less because Johnson said live with it?
Same with scrapping isolation, I know friends would do

🧵The amount of family/friends messaged me to stay safe today because of the winds..I mean it's nice of them but I'm in my house & it definitely "won't affect me" (I know 🙄..the it doesn't affect me crowd)
Thing is, no one text me the same about my children sitting next to COVID positive people after half term. A virus where currently my kids are not vaccinated against,it can pose a threat to their health and cause the equivalent of 4 out of every class of 30 to have long COVID. (if all 30 were infected) this virus isn't a joke. I doubt anyone would
