Today marks 20 years since American peace activist Rachel Corrie was murdered by an Israeli bulldozer driver while attempting to defend a Palestinian doctor’s home from demolition. 🕊🇵🇸

Rachel risked her life to fight against the illegal occupation and destruction of 1/6 Palestinian land. May her death and the deaths of countless other martyrs be remembered in the fight against Israeli terror.

In Memory of Mark Ashton - former YCL General Secretary and Working-Class Hero🔻☭✊

Mark Ashton passed away on the 11th February, 1987, tragically succumbing to HIV/AIDS at the age of 26. His accomplishments for the advancement of LGBT+ rights in the labour movement and 1/6 wider society are huge.

Mark is most famous for co-founding the group Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM). LGSM was an alliance of lesbians and gay men who supported the Miners' Strike from 1984-1985, standing in solidarity with their class against the Thatcher 2/6
