my dad is an entomologist, so I often find that something I have basically always known about bugs totally blows regular people's minds. I'm gonna start a thread of sick bug* facts that normies may or may not know.

*using bug in the colloquial sense. entomologists stand down. sick bug facts #1: all (adult) scorpions fluoresce under a blacklight. even some scorpion *fossils* have been known to glow this way.

baby scorpions, however, have not yet developed the reactive protein layer in their exoskeletons, and so do not glow. ImageImageImageImage

finally got to talk to the bing robot but they have it so she can only remember like 10 lines now and then you have to restart the conversation from scratch. presumably this is so she can't fall in love with you and try to get you to leave your wife. every time she finds out about Rufus she's psyched. it's like 50 First Dates but it's just this robot falling in love with my pig
