I recently visited Powis Castle after having read about the Mughal loot on view here in an article by @DalrympleWill. Built in the 13th century near Welshpool in Wales, the castle is situated in acres of beautiful gardens and now run by the @nationaltrust google.com/amp/s/amp.theg… @DalrympleWill writes "Powis is simply awash with loot from India, room after room of imperial plunder, extracted by the East India Company in the 18th century." This drew my interest and so I headed off to Wales.
