Here’s the part of this manifesto where I get to play fantasy GM. Start here to get the background info on Matthew Boyd. A few weeks ago I threw out some hypothetical trades for Boyd because it had been suggested that the Tigers should expect a return similar to what the White Sox got for Jose Quintana (Eloy Jimenez and Dylan Cease). I was trying to prove that was unrealistic.

Well, I hope you guys want to read a 40-tweet thread about Matthew Boyd and his trade value, because here it comes. For the last 2 seasons he was a slightly below-average MLB starter. A classic backend arm who could give you some innings. But this year he is a top 20 pitcher in baseball.
