For too long, young people and families have been priced out of living anywhere near the CBD, forced to either move away or give up on the dream of home ownership altogether.
So today, I’m proud to announce that Sydney is finally getting its first brand-new heavy rail station in over a decade, right in the middle of Woollahra, and with it, the zoning to build up to 10,000 new homes.

We've completed restoration works on nearly 300 social homes in just nine months.
That's 277 previously uninhabitable properties back in circulation and a roof over the heads of more than 700 people.
And we're on track to fix a further 13 by the end of June.

Overnight I received an unbelievable letter - a letter from the NSW Government demanding I stop visiting emergency departments at hospitals.
So many of you will have seen these visits here on my page.
Visits through the night - where I heard firsthand just how over-run EDs are.
Visits with workers who just want someone to listen to what they're going through.
And visits where I thanked these workers on behalf of everyone in NSW, for all that they do.
With 55,000 people getting up and leaving EDs without being treated.

When I became leader a year ago, I was told that my job was to oppose everything.
That we couldn't deliver positive change in politics - but together, we proved that wrong.
When our state was hit by the worst crisis we have seen in a generation.
We supported the government and proposed positive solutions to issues raised.
As that crisis subsided, our approach remained the same.
And what have we got to show for it? So much.
All thanks to work we did together over the past year.
